Welcome Guest,

Training & Resources Bulletin January 2025

Welcome to 2025. May this year be full of God’s light and life as we seek God’s healing and transforming presence in our churches, homes and communities.

A new year, and a new look bulletin! For best readability click ‘View Online’. This is the first newsletter from the College of St Hugh, sharing with you some of the many opportunities and resources curated on Learn-Grow-Share, the Diocese of Lincoln’s Digital Learning Platform.

Read more about ‘Teach us to Pray’ the free 5-week Lent Course encouraging us to deepen our prayer life. Also details on locally run ‘To Love and Serve the Lord’ courses in Louth, North Lincolnshire and ALM modules in Gainsborough. If you are looking to deepen faith, explore vocation or start training for lay ministry, sign up to one near you!

We look forward to receiving your feedback. To get the most out of Learn-Grow-Share, sign up, explore and save your favourites to your personalised account. Please ask if you have any questions – we are here to assist!

With prayers and best wishes for all that lies ahead in 2025.

Sarah Spencer, Mission & Discipleship Officer.

The Lent Course 2025

The Diocese of Lincoln’s Lent Course for 2025 is now available to read and download (and its free!).

This Lent Course is designed for individual and group study. It explores prayer through the lens of some of the simplest things we ever learn to say: please; wow; sorry; and ouch.

You will learn how each of these words opens up a different way of thinking about prayer, and different practical approaches to praying.

Diocese of Lincoln Receives National Eco Award

The Diocese of Lincoln has received its first national environmental award for supporting grass-roots climate action and helping local church communities care for the natural world in sustainable ways.

In the Christian faith, nature is part of God’s created order in the universe. Christians believe that people are called to live mindfully as a part of creation, alongside plants and animals, with compassion and care.

The diocese has been praised for meeting, and in some cases exceeding, the challenging award criteria.

**Energy Footprint Tool Returns** open on the 13th January 2025 – now is the time to grab your 2024 energy bills, ready for opening.

Tip of the month

From ’10 Top Tips’ Creating a Rhythm of Life

Try a new thing in 2025! ‘Some things might be done daily (praying, keeping a journal), some at least weekly, (time for worship, being with friends), some monthly, (reading a book about faith, participate in theological learning), some may be seasonal, (a Lent course), and some may happen just once a year, (a retreat).’
