Bishop’s Study Day 2 – Hope for All Creation

Join with church leaders from across the Diocese of Lincoln to think theologically and to engage with both local and national speakers in seeking insight and wisdom on the significance of the environmental contexts in which we live, work and minister.

The day will be held at venues across Lincoln Cathedral and Edward King House, Minster Yard Lincoln. Register your interest below. Detailed booking will be available from September. We’ll be discussing the new ‘Hope for All Creation’ document and its relevance for ministry in Greater Lincolnshire, seeking the wisdom of local experts on current environmental issues and how to put this into practice. There will be a range of ways to engage, including worship, honest discussion, theological reflection, film, workshops and celebration.

Hopes for the day:

A day for Christians in church leadership roles with diverging views, to engage theologically with the challenging environmental context and questions of this time. Wherever we stand, we all have a perspective to offer and a part to play.

The day is an opportunity to:

• develop responses to the new theological paper ‘Hope for All Creation’ published by Faith and Order Commission July 2026
• consider with local experts how the themes of the National Emergency Briefings translate into the context of Greater Lincolnshire
• share, listen, connect and question the complexity of God’s call to the churches of Greater Lincolnshire in offering ministry and mission in today’s changing and challenging context
• celebrate before God all that has already been achieved through 10 years of the Eco Church toolkit
• commit to ever deeper truthful and loving responses.
