Visit Sheldon

Sheldon Retreat offers specialist resources for people in ministry, including at times of stress, crisis, burnout or breakdown. The Sheldon Community live on site here and host the space. Our charism is low key and understated overlaying a solid commitment and attention to detail. Interwoven with the specialist work we have many more resources that are open to everyone.

“Don’t try and do it all on your own, ask for help in the forums or prayer room”

The Sheldon Hub

This is an independent ministry we have been developing quietly for 40 years.
In our common life we seek to live out the values of Stability, Stewardship and Servanthood

Where can I find out more?

There is an introductory video to The Sheldon Hub. We have a selection of lovely, simple, purpose-built, self-contained accommodations with privacy and solitude for you, while the day to day life of Sheldon goes on quietly around you. Bring your own food or let us stock your larder with everything you need. Dip into the chapels, the Art Shed, the Library or the Labyrinth as you please. You can just hide away in your burrow, or book time to talk with a member of the team.

A Message on Clergy Retreats from The Reverend Jackie Johnson, Wellbeing and CMD Officer.

Funding towards an annual retreat is available for clergy, (£150 in total). Contact me via jackie.johnson@lincoln.anglican.org to request the application forms. We echo Sheldon’s approach in that we don’t want lack of funds to be a barrier to clergy taking a retreat so if covering the balance of your chosen time away to be with God in prayer, reading, writing, creativity etc. is prohibitive please do me know and we will see what additional help we can signpost.
