The 3 R’s of Fraud Prevention

In partnership with former police officer Rich Kubon, now Fraud Protect/Regional Development Officer with the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), we are inviting churches, or preferably groups of churches or a Deanery, to host a presentation that highlights how to Recognize, Reject and Report frauds.

The session lasts around an hour and Rich can modify the content to meet the needs of whomever is in the room. It can be added to the end of a Sunday service for a larger congregation, arranged as a stand-alone event for several congregations to meet together, or perhaps be an open-to all-comers segment of a Deanery Synod. 

Within the time slot Rich can share information on the following and more:

• The different enabling platforms used by the fraudsters, i.e. in person/doorstep, mail/media, ’phones and online, and how each can be used to facilitate different fraud types
• How to identify some of the high harm frauds that target individuals, like romance and courier frauds
• Provide information on the figures around fraud – its under-reporting, and how you can report it to assist in the disruption of the fraudsters
• Plus there will be a Q and A opportunity at the end

Please name the individual who will act as the contact and organiser for your event. Once we have an idea of how the groupings look we will make the link between the church/Deanery contact and Rich.
