Looking for opportunities to help children and young people explore faith this summer?
We’ve gathered, here, a range of ideas and possibilities.
Sutton-on-Sea
Held every summer for 2 weeks, the beach mission is a free event, with activities for all the family. With a beach mission, holiday clubs and Bible studies and family events.
Satellites
Thursday 6th – Monday 10th August, a 5 day event, from YouthScape, whose aim is to support young people to live out their faith in everyday life. For 12-18 year olds.
Youth Pilgrimage in Walsingham
Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August. With pilgrims from the UK and internationally, this year’s theme is “Gaudete – Leaping for Joy!”. For 11-18 year olds.
Scripture Union
SU offer a range of residentials, with multi-activity or specific such as sailing, technology or even baking! For children and young people from 8-18.
Ventures & Falcons
For 8-18 year olds, a huge range of opportunities are offered and are open to all young people, regardless of faith or background.
Falcon holidays are subsidised to enable children and young people to attend who would otherwise not have the chance!
The trust also have grants and offers to enable more children and young people to attend.
West Runton Holidays
Activity packed holidays helping children (from Year 4) and young people to discover more about Jesus and faith.
The trust also have grants and offers to enable more children and young people to attend.
Explore the Bible
Holiday clubs inspired by Open the Book, “Explore the Bible” offers ideas and resources, accessible for different ages, settings, run times and attendance numbers.
Available exclusively to Open the Book members.
- “High Five Fest – Five stories of people who met Jesus and how that changed them.
- The Great Outdoors – Five stories of Jesus with a link to mental health in each session.
- COMING SOON – The Big Splash – Five stories in the Old Testament that involve water.

Lots of schemes, from Robots, The Wild West, The Olympics, Space, Cops and Robbers, and more!
Roots for Churches
An “intentionally intergenerational holiday club”. 3 sessions exploring encounters with Jesus, using 12 spiritual practices and include taken home resources.
Available to all who subscribe, or purchased separately.
Scripture Union
A range of “tried and tested” plans.
- Kingdom Builders – Explore the Kingdom of Heaven through Matthew’s gospel.
- Diary of A Disciple – Looking at Luke.
- Team Builders – What’s life like on God’s team? Find out through the stories of Joseph, Moses, Esther, Jesus and Paul.
Church of England
Things to do with children in the summer – at the beach, in your local community, on a journey and lots more.
Holiday Bags
A group of Churches in Lincoln began a project offering local families “Holiday Bags” with a craft, activities and a video linked to a Bible story. What a great way of connecting with the community!
