Bridge Builders – Handling Conflict
We will welcome a representative from Bridge Builders who will lead us in a two-day event on Handling Conflict. This will be held at the Mosaic Digital Centre, Thomas Parker House, 13-14 Silver Street, Lincoln, LN2 1DY on the 4th and 5th June 2025, 9:30 – 4:15. This is a training event for Clergy and Lay Ministers.
Tension in church life can be sparked by many things: personality clashes, changes in ministry patterns, reordering of buildings, worship styles, unexpected crisis events, financial uncertainty – to name just some.
The impact of the tension can be anything from minor individual disagreements to painful and long-lasting divisions. Leading through times of tension can be challenging, as we deal with our own anxieties as well as those of others. This two-day workshop provides an opportunity to reflect on our own experiences of conflict, the challenges of leadership through the current context of change and uncertainty, what happens as conflict escalates, and the importance of effective and constructive communication in times of tension.
Bridge Builders offers a wide range of training, coaching, consultancy and mediation services. Their purpose is to see people resourced to live the transforming gospel of reconciliation in every aspect of their lives. Their aim is to strengthen the ministry of Christian leaders, by helping them to be more self-aware, and to develop greater skills, confidence and resilience for working with tensions and conflict in the church.
Places are available and lunch will be included for both days.
