Booking: Youth Pilgrimage to Taizé 2026

The total cost of the Taizé Pilgrimage is £350 for under 35s and £450 for over 35s. This includes:

• Return travel from the UK to Taizé via bus and ferry
• All meals whilst at Taizé
• Campsite accommodation fees for 7 nights at Taizé

A £100 deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining fees can be paid all together or in instalments. The total is due before the 1st July 2026.

Travelling as a group, there is essential information that the organisers need to carry and share with Taizé for the duration of your stay. Once safely returned, the data records will be deleted. Read Taizé’s Data Protection Note.

Please complete the ‘Form for Taizé‘ below, and email a current jpg/png of your passport (and visa if necessary) to: collegeofsthugh@lincoln.anglican.org with the title: Passport for Taizé, your name.

Clothing: The weather in August will be hot, so pack cool clothes for summer days, and some light layers for evenings. Taizé ask that we dress appropriately for the community prayer with clothes that cover our shoulders and thighs.

Bedding: We will be camping as a group. Taizé encourage us to bring small tents for individuals, with a roll matt, sleeping bag, towel and light blanket for cooler nights.

What not to bring: Taizé ask that you do not bring alcohol onto the site. If you have picked some up at duty free, then you will be asked to leave it at La Morada until you set off on your return journey. Taizé also ask that there is no live flame onsite, so please do not travel with cooking equipment.

What about Wi-fi?  There is free access to a Wi-Fi network at certain times of day, near the shop. Cell phone coverage is good so bring a suitable lead and European charger. Please turn your phone off at meeting times and especially during prayer! Do not leave your phone unattended to recharge in your tent, dormitory or in a washroom.

Food: There is a “no meat” line at meal times for young adults. If you have special dietary requirements, such as non dairy, then please let us know and we can liaise with Taizé – they can’t cater for all special needs, but will try their best!

All food and drink is provided for your stay. You may wish to bring some money for food and drink during travel.

Travel to Taizé: There will be several pick up points on the afternoon of the 1st August 2026, which will be confirmed soon. The coach will leave in the early afternoon, and travel to Dover for the evening ferry. We will arrive at Taizé around Breakfast, ready for the first day.

Return from Taizé: We will leave by coach in the morning of Sunday 9th August 2026 and return, via ferry, to the UK in the late evening of the same day.

A typical day at Taizé – From Monday to Friday

8am Morning prayer, then breakfast
10am Introduction to the day with a brother of the community followed by quiet reflection or small group discussion
12.20pm Midday prayer, then lunch
2pm Optional song-practice
During the afternoon: international small groups or practical work
5.15pm Tea/snack
5.45pm Theme workshops (from Tuesday onwards)
7pm Supper
8.20pm Evening prayer, then vigil with songs in the church, followed by night silence
